Welcome to Spooky Events! By accessing or participating in our markets, retreats, or any other events (online or in person), you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.
1. Eligibility
Our events are open to the public unless otherwise stated. Certain events may have age restrictions, application requirements, or be exclusive to specific groups (e.g., vendor-only or women/women-identified only retreats).
2. Vendor Participation
Vendors must apply and be accepted before participating in any Spooky Events market or retreat marketplace. By applying, vendors agree to:
- Provide accurate information in their application.
- Submit payment by the stated deadlines.
- Follow event rules, including setup/teardown procedures and any health & safety guidelines.
- Treat all attendees, vendors, and staff with respect.
Failure to meet these requirements may result in removal from the event without refund.
3. Langford Station Vendor Requirements
The City of Langford has developed a community arts and culture project that recognizes the value of an outdoor public market in benefiting the community culturally, artistically, and commercially. These markets are designed to bring more awareness to The Langford Station and its full-time vendors.
This event is hosted by resident Langford Station vendor Jennifer of The Hermit's Path, who curates seasonally themed market of horror, mystic, Halloween, and spooky-inspired artists and vendors.
Selection Process: This is not a first-come, first-served application process, and returning vendors will not have automatic priority. Vendors are selected to ensure variety and fit with the market’s venue and demographic. Please put your best foot forward in your application.
Category Limits: Only a certain number of vendors per category will be accepted.
Outdoor Event Requirements: This is an outdoor market - weather conditions should be considered. Tents are required, and vendors must supply their own tents and tables.
Family-Friendly Note: While the event welcomes families, some content may be suited for an older audience. Vendors bringing children should be mindful of potentially scary or mature displays from other artists.
Payment Requirements: Vendors must have a payment processing system that accepts multiple payment methods - “cash only” vendors will not be accepted. Wi-Fi may be available but is not always reliable; using mobile data is recommended.
Inclusivity Policy: Spooky Events and Langford Station are LGBTQ+ safe spaces. Any vendor who does not demonstrate an inclusive environment may be asked to leave and/or not invited back.
4. Payments & Refunds
All vendor fees are due by the stated deadlines in event communications.
Payments are non-refundable unless otherwise noted in the event-specific terms.
In the event of cancellation by Spooky Events, vendors will receive communication about refunds or credits.
5. Attendee Conduct
We are committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment. We reserve the right to remove any attendee or vendor for behaviour that is disruptive, discriminatory, or harmful to others.
6. Photography & Media
By attending a Spooky Events market or retreat, you consent to being photographed or filmed. These images may be used for marketing, promotion, or archival purposes. Vendors may receive copies of select professional images for their own marketing.
7. Liability
Spooky Events, its organizers, and venue partners are not responsible for any personal injury, property loss, or damage during events. Vendors and attendees participate at their own risk.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on the Spooky Events website (including logos, images, and event materials) is the property of Spooky Events and may not be used without permission.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service at any time. Updates will be posted here, with the effective date noted at the top of the page. Continued participation in our events constitutes acceptance of any changes.
